Flight Experiences
In 2004 Catherine got me another trial lesson, this time in a R44 Raven helicopter (G-CBMJ I think) at Scotia helicopters in Cumbernauld. I was a bit intimidated at the thought of this. I’ve never (ever) landed a helicopter in flight simulator. However, all was fine and Catherine even got in the back and took some photos of the Wallace monument & Falkirk wheel.
My birthday was during our summer holiday in 2005, and we were in Florida. Again, Catherine had arranged a flight experience for me, so 13th October saw me hanging around at Warbird Adventures waiting for the weather to clear so we could go flying in the Harvard (Texan / SNJ-6). It was a fantastic experience, and I’ve got a video & photos to prove it. My pilot Chuck Gardner even demonstrated some formation with another Harvard on the way back to Kissimmee.
